Suggestions on what trainers to get for my boyfriend (25)

What trainers would a guy in his 20s pick? I was thinking of getting him some new trainers for Christmas as he’s mentioned how his are getting worn, he’s always worn Nike airforces so was thinking to get him a change. Though I’m not sure if I should just stick with them or get him something different, I usually wear platform vans so was thinking to get some black old skools but I’m not sure if he’d want that or it’s just what I’d want him to have. I also know he likes my Adidas spezials but again wouldn’t know if he’d actually want some.
