Dog hates being wiped down

My little guy (1 yo) goes on an off leash hike twice a week and comes back absolutely filthy. I try to wipe him down as best as I can with grooming wipes, but he squirms away and bites at the wipe. Has anyone had success training their pup to be calm while receiving a wipe down? How long did it take?
