Can I use the law in my personal situations? 1L here

For example, I was talking to an insurance agent today and he was mentioning that if I could use my parents address (old one that is currently on my DL) it would be much cheaper but they have to use where I am a resident.

I want to so badly just say, I don’t have the intention to permanently stay here so I may not technically be a resident where I currently live. See Mas v. Perry

Is that allowed? I know I can’t give legal advice to people and I never would, but could I use my own knowledge for myself? I’m so ready to be a dang lawyer I love this so much haha.
