2015 golf tsi stage 2 misfire

Hey everyone, I could really use some opinions on my Golf situation.

Here’s the rundown: • 2015 VW Golf 1.8 TSI, Stage 2 tune, lowered springs • Recently started misfiring on cylinder 1 • Carbon cleaning has been done, and fuel injectors are planned/replaced • Spark plugs and coils are good • Small water pump leak (basically just droplets), engine temperature stays normal • Compression test showed cylinder 1 slightly high compared to others • CEL blinks then goes solid during misfire • Mechanic is suggesting a full motor replacement (~$4k CAD), but I’m not sure that’s necessary

I drive 40 km one way to work, give the car 8 hours rest, sometimes highway speeds of 100–120 km/h.

My questions: 1. Is it reasonable to drive carefully with this misfire and tiny leak? 2. Will carbon cleaning help even if the misfire isn’t fully gone? 3. Has anyone had a similar Stage 2 1.8 TSI misfire issue, and how did it turn out?
