Should I play SF4

Almost a year or six months ago I finished SF3 and left the game for good due to its shit P2W or Ultra Grinding aspect. Now I came back to play for the Void Storyline(very interesting). Is there any kinds stuf related to sf lore that I'm gonna be missing if I don't play sf4 or is it just pvp?
