Conservatives/MAGA: Why does the LGBTQ+ seem to bother you so much?

I’ve seen so many right wing people on forums like X that really seem to HATE the LGBTQ+ community (especially transgender people) to the point where they think it should be illegalized and considered a mental illness, as well as calling the WHO ”corrupt” for not considering it as such. Why is this the case? I can understand holding dismay for people of that community who really try to shove it in your face, or are attacking you for it, but what about the LGBTQ+ people who are simply trying to live their lives as who they feel they are? Is the situation still the same?
