2x3" downspout adaption to 3" drainage pipe

I've just had gutters installed with downspouts connecting into my drainage system. I hate the adapters they used, see here. I know I can paint them, what bothers me is the fact that they aren't flush fit to the downspouts. The labels on the adapters indicate they are indeed for 2x3 downspouts, but the openings are more than 1/2" wider in both directions. What gives? Is there a better solution that doesn't require 3D printing custom adapters?
