First I'm really sorry for the late update, something not so nice happened at the vet and it had me emotionally paralyzed for days (reas further for details, I will appreciate opinions, especially if there are any vets or people that had the similar issue with a cat here)

Second, i'm absolutely thankful for the donations I already received. They helped me to breathe a bit and be less anxious. I hope one day I will be the one who donate to others here too not only ask for help! Thank you from the bottom of my heart guys!! And thanks to anyone who boosted the post as well!

So my my rescue turns to have uric acid/ammonium urate stones, not the common oxalate ones that most kitties get.

I wanna start with the good news. He is stone free as per his ultrasound, vet only saw sand but not crystals anymore. He isn't peeing blood anymore as well!!! he had a reinfection with uti after finishing his first antibiotic course and he had to take another course, but now he has finished his second couruse and no longer feverish!! I can't be more thankful to everyone who helped!!

I attached photos of his ultrasound before and after, you can see the difference!

The bad news is, more than news actually, is what the vet said. First of all when I first rescued him he had an upper respiratory tract infection. I took him because I couldn't afford boarding back then and gave him medications myself, he was supposed to stay with me until he recovers then I would neuter him and return him to his colony. However I got very sick and was bedridden so his release was delayed for months and I couldn't release him after he got used to the luxurious life of a home cat so I decided to keep him. Then I neutered him at around 6 months or 6 and a week.

Now, his vet says the reason he had the crystals is he was neutered really early so his urinary tract didn't fully develop and made him unable to pass crystals and caused him his illness.
I know from reading and research that this is an old myth that has been debunked and that neutring doesn't affect the urinary tract development but I couldn't challenge her or say anything because I was so shocked and scared she may be right and that I literally hurt him and ruined his life with my selfish decision. I was just crying at the clinic.

Second thing she said his stones type is not the common type and usually happens because the cat has a genetic liver issue that makes him unable to metabolize purine properly, that's why he makes this stone and she also said he has to be on a special diet for the rest of his life. She also said, right in my face "I don't think his life span will be long because of this issue". Yes. Literally. I am only translating it from my language but these r the same words she used. I was apalled. I just lost my soul cat and haven't recovered since then.

Now I get her statements are contradictory because if he has that liver issue he was going to form the unique crystals anyways but what if i really made his condition worse by early neutring? She said I should have waited till he is 1 yo.

I was in shock and in a bad condition that's why my update is late. I took sleeping pills and slept for days because I couldn't handle the fact I did that to him.

I'm looking for sincere and honest opinion on what she said, preferably from vets or anyone who has experience.

Regarding the cat's finances, he should be on a special urinary low purine diet forever. I attached its photo with my username as a proof. Each pack is 1.5 kg and costs equivalent of 34 usd in my country. Which is MASSIVE BUDGET TO ME. for reference I can buy my own human food for a week with the same amount of money. So it is a huge sum to me. I would be very grateful for any help I can get with his special food. I am also still short of 52 usd from his hospital stay and lab test. And I have his original stray colony to care for as well.

I also attached his urinary medications photos (only his pharma company name to avoid doxxing myself) with my username as a proof..and the cat himself as well.

I would appreciate any help regarding securing his food and his stray colony's.. i will be continusly posting another update of the things I pay with any donation I receive, or simply if you ever donated to me dm and ask for a receipt or photo of goodies with today's date!
