Skullcandy seems to be getting ready to launch a new version of its popular Hesh ANC over-ear headphones. A recent FCC filing, listed under ID **Y22-S6HHWT**, confirms that it operates on Bluetooth in the 2.4GHz band. This suggests that the product is close to hitting the market after receiving authorization on **September 28, 2025**.

# What the filing reveals

* **Product name:** Hesh ANC (model **S6HHWT**)
* **FCC ID:** **Y22-S6HHWT**
* **Wireless:** Bluetooth Classic + BLE (2402-2480 MHz)
* **Antenna:** Integrated PIFA design
* **SAR results:** Pass; head SAR well below the **1.6 W/kg** limit in the U.S.
* **Manufacturing:** Label indicates **Made in Philippines**
* **Company HQ:** Park City, Utah (Skullcandy Inc., Grantee Code **Y22**)
* **Key dates:** Documents submitted **January 28, 2025**; certification granted **September 28, 2025**

The FCC package contains external photos (five images), compliance labels, RF exposure documents, and several Bluetooth test reports. As usual with pre-launch audio devices, Skullcandy requested long-term confidentiality for sensitive information like detailed schematics and tuning procedures. They also requested short-term confidentiality (up to **180 days** from approval or until launch) for certain photos and the user manual. This means we can currently see the exterior of the headphones, while more in-depth engineering documents will be released closer to the launch date.

# Why it matters

The Hesh line is positioned below Skullcandy’s flagship Crusher series. It usually offers a simpler, lighter design with **active noise cancelation** at a more affordable price. A new **Hesh ANC** typically includes small improvements in Bluetooth connection, battery life, or ANC adjustment—areas highlighted by the extensive Bluetooth and SAR testing in the filing.

# The fine print (from the tests)

* **Bluetooth modes tested:** GFSK, π/4-DQPSK, and 8-DPSK across low, mid, and high channels, as well as hopping modes.
* **Compliance scope:** 47 CFR Part 15, Subpart C (15.247) for Bluetooth and BLE.
* **Lab:** SGS-CSTC (Shenzhen) conducted most of the RF, antenna, and SAR evaluations, with details covering calibration and system checks.

# What we still don’t know

The FCC does not reveal retail information such as **price**, **battery life**, **driver size**, or **launch timing**. These details usually come from a Skullcandy announcement or retail listings. Since the certification happened in September, a seasonal release seems likely based on previous Skullcandy timelines.
