Jealous over games
A bit of context: my husband is a legit gamer.
Last year, he persuaded me to try an FPS game since it’s kind of my niche. So, I bought a laptop so we could bond through gaming.
Sometimes we play together but most of the time, we don’t, since he’s more into another game. Over time, I started playing with other people I met in-game. It’s a 5v5 setup, so teamwork’s a must if you want to rank up. You can’t really avoid using comms, right? Sometimes I laugh or smile when I mess up or when someone says something funny. but I’m always on mute and those players refer to me as “pare” since they don’t hear me. Anyhow, I guess that means I’m just genuinely enjoying the game, right?
Now here’s the issue: every time I do that, my husband gets anxious and jealous. It’s not like I can choose my teammates. matchmaking just pairs you up randomly. Sometimes I get invited to 5-stacks, maybe because they like how I play, but… my husband doesn’t like that either.
I’ve made a few friends from the game, but I had to unfriend them because of him.
I feel like he’s been a bit controlling lately. He knows I’m an introvert and that I prefer staying at home. This is pretty much the only thing I do, play games or watch movies. Isn’t it a little unfair?
