About Henry Kissinger and Vietnam War?

Post WW2 history always fascinated me. While I have read in my country that British colonies had to let go of their holdings due to pressure from USA. There were countries that face US's empirialistic tendencies.

My question is about Vietnam War and Henry Kissinger. He got a Noble Peace prize for ending the war and that was very controversial. But what he did to end the war, was it really that wrong in context of cold war? And media were still there, congress were there, he was not questioned then? Why is he characterized as a villain now.

I particularly had very little idea about this topic. In my country, India, they don't teach US history beyond WW2 that much. Only a little about Cold War era. I was curious after watching the Johnny Harris video where he asks the same question in title while also heavily implying the answer to be yes.
