I was feeling a tad jaded with all the war and death, the ascending and the plundering, so I decided to have an adventure: a relaxing but perilous journey. I wanted the challenge of travelling from Sainte-Anne to Telok Penjarah in my Dhow.

You face crocodiles, sharks, huge hostile ships and towers, rough bumpy seas and lightning strikes. Not to mention the possibility of a mutiny. My crew were constantly telling me to turn back: *"You're trying to do something stupid... turn back!!"*

I headed South from Sainte-Anne, turning East after Guérande and sailing under Fort du Lys, and headed for The Oubliette. From there I ventured further East, across choppy and shark ridden waters to Grande Falaise, avoiding Dutch and pirate ships. While on the way there, a player ship suddenly veered right across my bow. I hadn't seen them, and even the parrot soiled himself.

From Grande Falaise, I went further East, to the Dutchman's Camp. Very hairy with lots of Dutch, Pirate and Fleet of Pestilence activity.

Normally when you are about to receive a mortar hit, and you get the red target reticle appear around your ship, you can scurry over the top of it, and the mortar will miss as you leave the target area. In a Dhow, you are so small and slow, that the target reticle appears to be 5 miles wide, and you slowly crawl across it, trying to brace without any means of bracing. I got sunk but managed to get back to sea and carry on. Strangely enough, when sailing in the Dhow it feels like you are racing along in a little speed boat.

From the Dutchman's Camp I headed Northeast to the Forgotten Candi, and then North along the edge of the map until turning West for Kelewar Chamber. From there I went directly North up the river, braving crocodile attacks. But there were Dutch ships and Privateers at the exit of the river, so I had to turn back and then sail around and North along the Eastern map edge, turning West and sailing across Kampong Subur, keeping my distance from the towers. I headed Northeast above Subur Lumberyard to Karst Lookout, and from there I could see the welcoming glow of Telok Penjarah in my spyglass, and it was a short sail North to be home in time for grog and curried turtle.
