I’m only facing players who ranked way higher than me last season.

Last 4 games in a row I’ve only matched against players who got UC last season. Lowest was 1500 and highest was 2028. Is this just because it’s early season? I haven’t even gotten to UC myself, I just started playing again a few months back and pushed to 15k/ranked last season. Got to grand champion as my highest. I guess the question is : is it skilled based match making or will you just face whichever opponent is also in que that’s in your rank, like master 2 for example. Thanks
