Where do people find comforting hugs here?
Hi everyone! I’m new to Canberra and still learning how things work here socially. I’m very introverted and slow to make friends, so I haven’t met many people yet. I tried dating apps, but I realised they’re not really my vibe. I’m too quiet and I don’t exactly have an "interesting life" like many people expect.
This might sound a little funny, but I’ve been wondering… does Canberra have any kind of free hugs, cuddle events, cosy social groups or anything for people who crave gentle, platonic affection and connection? I’m an Asian woman in my late 20s, and I really miss the simple comfort of being hugged and feeling safe around someone.
I’d love to find spaces for warm, friendly, non-romantic human contact, or meet other women who enjoy relaxed hangouts like movie nights, soft chats and maybe a supportive hug if we’re both comfortable. Any tips on where introverted people in Canberra go to feel connected and cared for would be amazing. Thank you!
