Wine > Liquor
My Q’s choice of alcohol is rum, and he has been an alcoholic for about 3 years now. He’s been experiencing withdrawal symptoms and knows his body is dependent on the alcohol at this point. After going to the Dr. today and hearing his liver levels are extremely high, he decided that he wants to switch to a few glasses of wine every night instead of liquor to “give his liver a break”. I’m extremely frustrated because I’ve made it so clear I want him to take steps towards healing the addiction, not just his liver. He thinks I’m not supportive in his “healing” journey because I haven’t told him that the wine is a good idea. Am I wrong here? I need someone unbiased to tell me I’m being crazy and too firm on this.
