Messaging not working

Hi all. In the last week or so, my 2021 PS2 stopped receiving any of my texts. Tried repairing my phone, deleting the phone from both sides, restarting the infotainment system...nothing fixed it. After repairing, I can access my contacts and make phone calls, listen to music, but no texting. Messages app just shows a notice that no device is connected. I also verified that my phone is allowing access to messages.

On that note, I've always only used Google messages on my Samsung Galaxy, but it seems that my only option in the PS2 is to use Samsung messages (based on the app icon). Anyone know if I can use, or how to use Google messages? Seems being Android based system, that would be the default app.
