Blizzard Should NEVER Be Allowed to Delete Boulderfist Ogre From Our Collections Over Their Mistakes

I honestly cannot believe I have to say this in 2025, but apparently I do: Blizzard should NOT have the power to reach into my account and delete my Boulderfist Ogre. Like, excuse me? My 6 mana 6/7? My boy? My legend?

During pre-release, I spent $200 USD on packs. I cracked open Boulderfist Ogre — a signature card, a true embodiment of Peak Hearthstone Design™. I built decks around him. I crafted theories. I felt something again.

And then Blizzard just goes:

“Oops lol, our bad — Boulderfist Ogre wasn’t supposed to be that ogre-y.”

And instead of owning their mistake… they delete him. Delete my beloved ogre like he never grunted “Ogre strong!” in my collection.

No option. No opt-in. No apology. Just:

We messed up the perceived value of a 6/7 vanilla, so you lose your ogre. Enjoy your one random Golden Murloc, peasant.

Their “compensation”? A RANDOM signature legendary. As if that compares. Boulderfist Ogre was locked behind $200 worth of disappointment, and they think tossing me an RNG dust pile fixes it?

Imagine buying a sandwich, taking it home, and the company breaks into your house at 3 AM to take the lettuce back because it was “too green.” That’s Blizzard right now. A small indie company struggling to make ends meet, apparently.

What’s next? They delete my Chillwind Yeti because “it was too iconic”? They remove Basic Cards for “balancing reasons”?

The principle is terrifying. If they can delete Boulderfist Ogre, what stops them from deleting our souls next patch?

We didn’t code the bug. We didn’t misconfigure the droprates. We just opened packs and prayed to RNGesus like we’ve done since 2014.

And now I’m punished for being a loyal customer of a multi-billion-dollar small indie company that can’t handle the raw power of 6 mana 6/7.

So yeah, Blizzard, if you’re reading this: Give me back my Boulderfist Ogre. He was my friend. My brother. My tempo play on turn 6.

You can take my dust, my gold, my ladder stars — but you will NEVER take my OGRE STRONG.
