Can't believe how bad Windows 11 is; can't believe how incomplete Linux is.

I tried Nobara (Fedora) and Mint (Ubuntu).

On my AMD system, I didn’t have a GPU driver panel to adjust saturation, making it super hard to tweak something so basic. I also didn’t have a Realtek panel to manage sound output for both the front and rear of my computer (speakers and headset). I couldn’t disable microphone boost either, so my mic was extremely loud, and everyone could hear my music while I was talking on Discord.

Nobara, which has been the best so far, allowed me to run games on my Windows partition, like Steam with Dota and Warframe. However, the FPS dropped from 100-150 on Windows to 60-70 (uncapped) on Linux. On the bright side, Windsruf and dev tools are insanely fast on Linux literally five times faster than on Windows.

Here in 2025, your options are either Windows 10 IoT Enterprise or Linux (friendly distros, and I strongly recommend Nobara). Windows 10 support has just ended, and while I don’t care about official support, I do care about software no longer working on Windows 10. It happened with 8.1, and it’s bound to happen soon with Windows 10.

That’s it. Linux has a promising future, but for now, it’s still complicated for basic stuff and not as complete as Windows. Meanwhile, Windows is probably in the worst state it’s ever been.

PS: Seriously, everyone, give Nobara a try.
