Stolen Instrument

Hello everyone,

I just had my stuff stolen out from my car. I live in prospect park in student housing, and I accidentally left my instrument in there overnight (I know, bonehead mistake) and it got stolen. It is valued at over $2000 dollars. I already filed a police report, should I just cut my losses and buy a new one? I’m a student and prepping for an audition so I’m going to borrow one from someone else, but I’m not sure if the police are ever going to find it. Should I hold out hope?
