Mom’s giving me a 318i E46, but it hasn’t started in 3-5 years.

The problem is the ECU, I believe something relating to it. We bought one years back but it was for the wrong model so that demotivated us for a year or two. Then this year she found the correct ECU and is waiting for me to come this December to change it with a mechanic.

It’s been sitting there for years gathering dust, rats here and there but I’ve never noticed too many with it but you never know.

It was working before with its only issue being the battery passively getting drained at idle.

I’m a student, but have a decent budget a cheap mechanics where I’m from. How bad is it looking?
