Should I take accutane, my dermatologist recommended it, but I heard the side effects are bad.

I have some acne on my neck and face, and sometimes have flair ups, but my acne is not really bad. I also get blackheads on my nose and in my ears which really annoys me. My dermatologist had me on clyndamycin lotion and tretenoin cream. Today she presented the option of accutane because my acne wasn’t really improving. I have heard the side of effects are bad, should I take it?
