First time in GA - Tell me what to expect

This will be my 4th Florence concert, but my first time on the floor. I thought my GA days were behind me, but I feel like I need to experience the magic of this album on my feet. Those who've done GA at a show (I'm in Boston) before, what are the vibes like? I'm shortish and don't want to fight my way to the front, but still hope to see the stage. Are people generally kind? I'm also going solo while my wife stays home with the baby so I want to make the most of it but can't arrive like 5 hours before doors open.
