What did Jamie Oliver actually do in the band?

I’ve listened to lots of their stuff, and to me it seems like his role was really minimal, especially in Start Something and beyond. Kind of like the role Richey Edwards played in the Manic Street Preachers.

In fake sound I can tell he’s doing turntables though which is a central part of the albums sound.
