All the negativity makes me sad, but what do we do when devs don’t listen?

Discussion

I’m one of you guys. Massive fan from literally the first demo, playing regularly all the games until this one. And I look at what we have and it makes me sad.

On one had, I want to blame EA. I’m sure they forced the devs to make a GaaS basically by not approving any other pitch.

On the other hand, we have the devs. They could not be more disconnected from the actual skate fans and what we want. Chances are we are older now so we have more money and less time than we had when we became fans, so surely we’re less likely to want this type of game.

But you know, even if they just have to make a Fortnite-adjacent game to get paid, that doesn’t excuse all the never-ending problems, poor mission design, uninspired maps, non-existent multiplayer and the least engaging season passes they could make. All of this while consistently ignoring our feedback for years, first during the beta access and now during the early access.

Then we have the community. I want to stay positive and enjoy the game, but every time I come here I see so many people celebrating each failure it sort of takes the joy from it. The worst part? I get it. It’s that “I told you so” feeling you get when we’ve been telling them for years what kind of game we want and how to fix that and they still believe they know better?

I don’t know. It’s all really sad. I know there are people enjoying the game, and I can certainly enjoy some of it, but it just makes me sad when I come here and I see all the memes about how bad it’s doing or how the devs fuck it up. But also, what do we do when they don’t listen?

I would like to help this game succeed (I paid for the first season pass but honestly regret it), but I’m certainly won’t do it by spending money on random Halloween masks and feedback feels pointless right now.
