I was financing with someone a car I had bought a while back to someone and they stopped paying me and cut all contact with me

A while back I had financed a 2008 Ford Fusion to a “friend” I had and we had made somewhat bill of sale copy off of google with both our names and addresses agreeing to some terms and payments but he never ended up paying the full amount of cash and a mistake I had made in this process was giving him the title and it wasn’t under my name now I’m left with over $1000 that he owes me is there any way to get my money? Additionally I have texts of us doing the transaction and have pictures of his buying and also texts where I told him he owed me and when he stopped responding. Location: San Antonio, Texas
