If you’re in the adult industry, or often find yourself hearing about the goings-on within adult work current events, you’ve probably heard about the mass suspension of adult accounts over on Twitter. Sure, that’s always been a thing, but recently, extremely tame accounts have been getting suspended just like that 🫰. I’ve been among those suspended, and I’ve been EXTREMELY careful. At this point, AI is controlling all moderation over there an apparently female-ran accounts are being banned for showing shoulders in their photos. I’m not exaggerating either. For example, this car selfie and two clothed photos of me in a Halloween costume were what prompted my suspension. Appeals are useless, as there is no human at the wheel to make a nuanced decision. AI can’t determine what’s violating TOS and what’s not. Twitter/X has been on a downhill slide for sometime now: shitty algorithm, inconsistent suspensions, and horrible engagement. The fact that you can keep your account as PG as possible and still be banned is the final straw.

I will probably stay on Twitter as long as it stays alive, but it would behoove anyone doing adult work to diversify your social media platforms ASAP if you’re not doing so already. Bluesky is rapidly becoming the Twitter alternative. I’m not a fan of Meta platforms, but I’m considering making an Instagram too. If you’re someone who likes to follow and interact with adult workers of any flavor online, I strongly suggest following them everywhere you can, saving their contact info, and getting on their mailing list if they have one. I’m in the process of creating a mailing list and newsletter. If you’ve seen me before, I very likely have you saved in my records, but if you’re a prospective client hoping to meet me in the future, I’d suggest getting on the mailer when it becomes available. Social media is becoming increasingly volatile for folks who make a living this way, so it’s best to make sure you know where to find your favorites, because they could be gone tomorrow. Photo added to boost engagement, but also because I’m probably going to start using Reddit more as an advertising platform than just a place to connect with my peers.
