Do any positions exist for hardware electrical engineers on the ship?

I work in the defense industry as an electrical test engineer. I am very proficient in troubleshooting electronic circuits and assemblies and am learning Power Electronics Design (AC-DC, DC-DC converters) in my spare time.

Do any ship positions exist for my skillset that wouldn't require significant additional training/licensure. Anything electrical I have seen so far require marine electrician licensure. Are there any support positions like ship radio/information technology that could work with a short term amount of training?
