Got Laid Off, Applied for CXC, Got A Rejection Email

Listen, I didn’t want to have to work for CarMax again after they laid me off. However, when we were delivered the news about our layoff, the company offered us to apply for their CXC internal position to come back on board. Of course since I am in dire need of a job and cannot afford to live the next few weeks without one, I applied.

The process was a mess. I was reached out to by several different recruiters to arrange a phone interview.

Tell me why two recruiters decided to call me at random, different times of the day for the phone interview OUTSIDE of our scheduled meeting. Not only that, they didn’t even leave voicemails or a text, and I only knew it was them when I noticed the calls were from VA.

There I am, waiting at the time my interview was scheduled at, for a phone call that never came.

Of course I complained about this, and the main recruiter tried to blame ME the following day saying I didn’t answer when they attempted to reach out.

Absolutely fucking not. I told them I was contacted during random times of the day and your team did not identify themselves. THEN I get the apology, and an offer to have the phone interview RIGHT NOW, because it was all the time “they had”.

I was put in a position where I HAD to have the phone interview on a whim to accommodate THEM and their mistake, and I wasn’t able to do the best that I could.

Of course being in that predicament ended in me getting my rejection email today. I didn’t even get a fair shot.

Not that I had my hopes up, I’m just simply stating that CarMax threw one last dagger at me to send me on my way.
