Hey everyone! I’ve been experimenting with writing a short Jeyne Poole POV scene as if it were part of The Winds of Winter.

I wanted to capture her inner voice, her fear, longing, and the quiet grief she carries after everything that happened after the separation with Sansa Stark. I tried to write it in a style that feels close to Martin’s tone, personal and emotional.

I’d really love some feedback:
	•	Does this sound like Jeyne?
	•	Does the voice feel believable for her character?
	•	And how’s the grammar and phrasing overall? English isn’t my first language, so I’d really appreciate any notes or corrections if something reads off.

Thanks a lot in advance!

“She had longed for lemon silk, but found only bloody Snow.

The air cracked with frost.
A stranger’s hide, a stranger’s colors. She did not like pink. They all said beige suited her best — but Sansa had thought yellow did, bright as a lemon cake, soft as an egg yolk.
Yellow cloth was costly. And House Poole did not wear yellow; it was not their way. Yet how she had longed to try it on, just once. Sansa had promised her a lemon-colored gown, when she became queen. In King’s Landing, the ladies wore every hue known to man and bathed in admiration.
But she had never had her turn at court. Sansa had left her, and no one else cared to dress her anymore. Only to undress.

She missed Sansa. They told her Lady Stark wanted no more of her company, yet Jeyne could not bring herself to hate her only friend.
They sent her where all the pretty, useless girls are sent. She no longer dreamed of a gallant knight come to her rescue — knights came to the brothel every night, drunk and loud. They were nothing like the heroes she and Sansa had read about in their tales. Truth be told, they seemed more beast than man.

And yet, even then, Jeyne had longed to go home. The only home she had ever known was called Winterfell.”
