Belly Button Mystery

Hey everyone, I’ve been dealing with recurring belly button infections over the past year and could really use some advice or insight.

I’ve had infections on 10/17/24, 9/14/24, and most recently 10/30/25 — this last one is the only time I haven’t taken an antibiotic for it. I’ve had several rounds of antibiotics this past year, including Cephalexin, Amoxicillin, Metronidazole, Amoxicillin-Clavulanate (Augmentin), and Azithromycin.

Right now, my belly button is painful and has some discharge, but no pus. I’m waiting to get a CT scan scheduled to see what’s going on.

I’m just not sure if I should ask for another antibiotic in the meantime or hold off since I’ve already been on so many. Has anyone else had something like this happen repeatedly or found a non-antibiotic cause (like cysts, fungal infection, or something deeper)?

Any advice or similar experiences would be appreciated
