What’s APP HACK

My employees whats app was “hacked” and sent out a message to a selected few employees last night (which I believe are vulnerable nice people) saying she had an emergency and needed help.

If they responded she proceeded to ask for $500 because her account was locked but she promised to give back in the morning. They sent a random Zelle email and some coworkers sent her the money.

This wasn’t from a new number, it was on the same threads they had history on.

Is it possible to hack this way? Has anyone experienced this before??

If she did this herself I don’t think it’s safe to keep her with our company. Please help!
