Buying a car v extra lessons?

I was on the phone to my ma earlier and she wants to get me extra lessons for Christmas. I kind of feel like that would be a waste of money and that it would be a much better investment to put that money into a car so then I have a car that I can have plenty of practice in. Which way would you sway?
