Is it ok to ask her if she cooks ?!
I wanted to get some genuine advice. My family’s started looking for a rishta for me, and there’s one thing I’m not sure how to handle.
For context my family is financially ok and lives in Pakistan and I live abroad. Back home, we’ve got a comfortable setup with house help, drivers, etc. The women in my family are involved in business and agriculture, and definitely not the “stay in the kitchen” type. But even then, all cooking is done by my mama not because she has to, but because idk my dad loves whatever my mom cooks and me too.
Now here’s where I’m stuck. I don’t want to sound old-fashioned or controlling, but I do feel like I’d want my future partner to know how to cook not as a chore. She could relax all day do whatever she wants but only thing I would like is cook for family.
Is that wrong to even ask about during the rishta process? Like, if I say it’s important to me, would that come off as a red flag?
