Does your religion have concepts like the holy spirit or praying to saints?
I am trying to understand catholic concepts like these better and thought I should try to deepen my understanding by learning about similiar concepts in other religions. My focus is less on the monotheist aspect but rather the dynamic how these affect religious life to better understand the purpose and motivation.
So if you are unfamiliar with these I will explain them in a few words:
Holy Spirit: Considered by most christians to be one of the three persons that are each the same God, is "felt" by christians and is believed to interact in their lives. So is there a religious force or deity in your religion that actively affects your life?
Prayer to Saints: Catholics pray to saints, not to worship them, asking for their prayers and intercession on their behalf. Just as you might ask a friend or family member to pray for you during a difficult time, Catholics believe that saints can intercede on their behalf with God due to their closeness to Him. So are there figures in your religion that despite not being deities can serve as supernatural guides? Or that lived such a devout religious life that they inspire you?
