How strong are foldable exercise mats?
I’ve been thinking about setting up a small home workout space in my apartment, but I don’t have much room to dedicate to it. I came across these foldable exercise mats that look pretty convenient since they can be stored away easily, but I’m a bit skeptical about how sturdy they actually are.
I do a mix of workouts—bodyweight exercises like push-ups and planks, some light dumbbell work, and occasionally a bit of jumping or core routines. What worries me is whether these mats can handle pressure without the seams splitting or the foam getting crushed after a few weeks. I’ve seen some advertised as “gym-quality,” but that can mean anything.
Has anyone here used foldable mats for consistent workouts? Do they stay firm and supportive, or do they start sinking or tearing quickly? I’d really like something that won’t slide around or lose shape after a few sessions, especially since I can’t afford to replace it often. Any recommendations or honest experiences would be super helpful.
