Poppies mandarin oranges not good

Bought 5 pound bag of mandarins "Poppies" today at S.L.O Costco. Threw them in the trash after trying to eat four of them. They were not juicy, not sweet, and were probably picked too early my best guess. Note mandarins do not ripen off the tree.
