going form BE(hons) ME to just BE(hons)

Im a first year engineering student currently enrolled in the 5 year BE(hons)/ME program and was wondering if its possible for me to drop down to the regular bachelors, as i think i might do that later on. Is there a deadline by which this must happen and if so who do i talk to about this
