How to get better?

Hi all, I'm a new driver (passed in Aug) and wanted to get some tips/perspective on how to improve my driving in real-world conditions.

For context, I learnt through school and had no issues throughout my pracs/TP. I was prepared that driving on actual roads will be a whole different ball game, but I definitely underestimated the difference haha

I drive with my family car (SUV-type), so getting used to the car/height/size difference was one thing at the start. Apart from that, it's also the multitasking of driving and navigating. Expressways are also intimidating to me not just because of everyone's speed, but knowing when to exit/what lane to keep to/what to do if cannot filter.

The advice I've gotten so far is that I just have to practice more to get better (and I agree!), but does anyone have other tips to help a new driver acclimatise better without being too much of a road hazard? :")
