Made a decision tree quiz for people about to waste $500 on their first espresso setup

After seeing the 100th post asking "Breville Barista Express vs Gaggia Classic Pro?", I decided to do something about it.

Built a free quiz that basically tells people:

"STOP. Buy a better grinder first."

Because we all know the truth:

  • $400 machine + $50 grinder = disappointing espresso
  • $200 machine + $300 grinder = actually good espresso

The quiz walks people through:

  • Their actual budget (not wishful thinking)
  • Current grinder situation (this is where reality hits)
  • Time commitment (manual vs electric)
  • Whether they should even START with espresso (hot take: most shouldn't)

Hoping to reduce the number of "why does my espresso taste sour" posts 😅
