Laba, Linis, Luto, - Dahil Babae Ako, Di'Ba?

Isn't it funny how the universe works?

Apparently, when girls are born, the hospital doesn't just hand them to their parents - it also gives them an invisible mop, a lifetime supply of dishwashing soap, and the sacred title: "Household Manager of Everything". Because, of course, if there are dishes in the sink, laundry waiting, or a floor that needs sweeping, the universe automatically whispers, 'Call the girl!'

Brothers can walk past a pile of unfolded clothes like it's invisible. Fathers can relax on the couch with the confidence of someone who knows the "cleaning fairy" (a.k.a their daughter) will appear any minute. And heaven forbid you forget to cook dinner-apparently, that's the end of civilization.

Meanwhile, if a guy picks up a broom once a year, it's treated like an *Olympic-level achievement. "*Wow, he's so responsible!" they say. No, he just did the bare minimum.

It's ironic isn't it? We talk about equality, independence, and empowerment, yet somehow, the expectation that girls should handle all the household chores is still alive and well, just wearing a modern disguise.

Maybe, it's time we stop saying, "That's a girl's job," and start saying, "That's everyone's responsibility." Chores are life skills, not gender roles.
