Is there a nail solution for me?

Discussion/Question

Hi nail girlies/guys!

I am a masculine-leaning woman who likes cute but SHORT nails. My natural nails are flimsy and flexible, which means nail polish doesn't last long (I'm talking 1-2 days until flaking), and even acrylics I have to be careful with, else they'll ping off with the slightest pressure (opening doors, working out).

One reason I like to paint my nails is my nails get very dirty quickly. No matter how much I clean them, or how short I cut them, very quickly I get buildup of brown/dirt and it makes me feel self conscious.

My only success has ever been with professional BIAB nails, which usually stay for 3-4 weeks. They feel great and I love them. But unfortunately the prep for BIAB seems to be filing down the natural nail (so the builder gel adheres) and long term I worry that's not good for my nail. They're already really flimsy and so when the nails come off it's excruciating having such thin nails, I typically can't NOT have a manicure which has its own issues.

So my ask is; is there a nail colour solution that will hide my dirty nails, keep my nails short, won't ruin my natural nails, and won't flake off in a couple of days? Am I asking the impossible? 🥺
