Do “quiet” films still work in a world that never shuts up?
Between constant notifications, autoplay trailers, and second-screen scrolling, it feels harder than ever to give a film your full attention. Especially the slow, meditative ones that need silence to sink in.
But when you do, when you actually sit still for films like Past Lives, Drive My Car, or Columbus, something shifts. They remind you that not every story needs to shout to be heard.
Do you think “quiet” films still have a place in today’s noise-filled world? Or are we slowly losing the patience they ask of us?
