Driving from Sharks to Wellcum in Winter

Hi Guys

Can anyone help me with my trip, I am planning to drive from Darmastadt to Hohenthurn, basically from Sharks to Wellcum, I want to take in the scenery and experience the road

However, the trip is planned for early December and I dnt know about the driving conditions there.

1. Is it safe to drive during December month or does it heavily snow?

2. Apart from my passport(Australian) do I need to worry about anything else while crossing border?
