Winter riding footwear inquiry

I'm a flat pedal guy & I'm looking for suggestions for winter riding This will be my first year doing year round in Kansas, where I was previously spoiled by living in Northern California .. My car has been sold, and I'm taking the plunge, but I'm curious about footwear options because my feet tend to be the only part of me that doesn't run hot, so I need to layer appropriately.. So Winter commuters, what's on your feet while you ride?
