Any tips for small hands?

My partner and I are slowly getting into anal play for him. My problem is I am very petite and have small hands and fingers. His bum isn’t huge, but kind of firm. Not him being tense, just his build. I am having a hard time inserting enough of my finger to reach the prostate and with a toy I feel like I am flying blind. Any advice or tips would be greatly appreciated.
