Upgrading from Canon 1500D → Considering Sony A6600 in 2026. Still Worth It in 2026?
Hey folks,
After years of shooting with my Canon 1500D, I’ve finally decided to move to a mirrorless setup. I’ve been into photography since 2017 (so not exactly a beginner), and lately I’ve also been recording videos on my iPhone 13 for social media, which is going surprisingly well! I travel a lot with friends and my wife and love clicking pictures using my Canon and videos and using my iPhone. I am thinking of a new camera setup to fulfill my need.
After watching tons of YouTube reviews and stretching my budget a bit, I’ve narrowed it down to the Sony A6600 (APS-C).
My requirements:
- Mirrorless body
- Solid low-light performance
- 4K video recording
- Budget: around ₹60K (body only)
- EVF preferred (but open to opinions)
- Mostly for hobby photography, social media, and family events
Other options I considered:
- Sony ZV-E10 II – ✅ Better battery, larger sensor | ❌ No EVF, no IBIS, slightly pricier
- Nikon Z50 II – ✅ 4K60, newer processor | ❌ No IBIS, limited/expensive Z-mount lenses
The A6600 seems like the best fit right now since E-mount lenses are more affordable and widely available.
My question:
Do you think the Sony A6600 will still be a good and relevant choice in 2026, especially for someone shooting mostly for fun, family, and content creation?
Would love to hear your thoughts or any better suggestions around this price point! 🙌
