Does getting a Stipend in Scotland violate tourist ETA in England?

Scotland

Hello! I'm having trouble finding the answer to this-- but basically, I am an artist from the States and I will be in London from Feb 2026-July 2026 with my ETA. I know I can not work while I'm here, but I would love to submit to art contests around the UK, and some of them have stipends as prizes to complete a piece that then would be auctioned off to charity.

One of the organizations I'm interested in submitting to said that they are open to international artists, and that if I can't be in Glasgow to complete the piece, I would need to ship it to wherever I'm staying. I'm happy to travel to Glasgow from London to paint the piece, but I am worried that receiving the stipend would violate my ETA.

So I guess ultimately I'm wondering if a stipend is legally viewed the same as getting paid for work? I've attached a screenshot from the terms of conditions page.

I would love to build my CV in ways that do not violate my ETA in any way, so just trying to be safe. I'm not entirely sure of how things work, hopping from country to country while still within the UK, so apologies for any blatant ignorance, and appreciate the help!
