worried about starting a career after I get my degree

Business

hiya, long time lurker on this subreddit here. I've been studying photography for the last four years and will be finishing my degree next year. I'm getting increasingly worried about actually starting a career in this field. I'm concerned about the competitive market of it all and, whilst I've been taught how to take great photos, I don't feel I know how to actually make my way into the industry and how to find work. I'm a very anxious person and I keep feeling like I won't be any good at 'getting out there'. I've made a photography Instagram account though I realize that's not the best way to get your photography well known I just don't know what else to do. it doesn't help that I live in quite a small town. what has everyone else's experience been getting work? how did you do it?
