I think my dad regrets having kids.
He never says it, but I can see it in how he looks at us. Everything we do annoys him, our laughter, our noise, our existence. He talks about how his life “used to be easier” before we were born, and he calls us “expenses” more than “children.”
I’m 24 now and I still feel like a burden in my own family. Sometimes I wish I could go back in time and give my younger self a dad who actually wanted to be there.
