Any information on timelines for Visa grant after adding New Born to 189 Visa?

Hello Everyone,

I lodged my 189 visa on 5th November 2024. In January, my wife became pregnant, and I notified DHA of the pregnancy in June, as it was clear she wouldn’t be able to travel due to her condition, and I wanted to avoid any delays in adding our child later.

I never received any update from DHA after that. Our baby was born on 27th September, and I uploaded her birth certificate last week. Her passport is still being processed.

So far, I haven’t received any communication from DHA, and it’s now almost 12 months since I lodged the application. Would uploading her passport (once available) make any difference or possibly speed up the grant process?

Also, could the delay be related to the Change of Circumstance notifications I submitted? I’d appreciate it if anyone could share their experience or that of someone who’s been in a similar situation.
